You can ask us to delete your Off the Grid account and the personal data tied to it at any time. This page explains how the request works, what we erase, and the few things we're legally required to hold on to.
How to request deletion
Email hello@offthegridtravelers.com from the address linked to your account, with the subject line “Delete my Off the Grid account.” Include the display name or handle you use in the app so we can verify the request.
We'll confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What we delete
- Your profile (name, handle, bio, age, hometown, photos).
- Your meetup posts, comments, likes, and saved itineraries.
- Direct-message threads you started or participated in.
- Uploaded photos and identity-verification selfies stored in our cloud storage.
- Authentication records (Apple/Google identity bindings) for your account.
What we may retain
- Aggregated, de-identified usage statistics that can no longer be linked to you.
- Receipts and subscription records that we're legally required to retain (typically up to 7 years for tax purposes), held by Apple, Google, and our payment processor. Deleting your Off the Grid account does not refund any purchase — manage subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account.
- Trust & safety logs related to a confirmed terms-of-service violation, kept only as long as needed to enforce a ban.
Account suspension vs deletion
If you just want to stop using the app for a while, sign out instead — your data stays in place and you can come back any time. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
